Chapter 13

I couldn’t believe what I was reading, that gig had been sold out for months. I immediately got on the phone to Sidney,

“How on earth did you manage to find front row tickets to the Bon Jovi gig, they have been sold out for months?” I ask far too excitedly not even thinking of saying hello first.

“I have my contacts Gill, I hope you have a good time, are you taking Kirsty?”

“No Sidney, I am taking you, get your passport and overnight bag at the ready, we are off to New York baby!”

I was hyper for the rest of the night and was too excited to sleep.

The following morning I picked up Sidney on the way to training so that we were not taking 2 cars to the airport. I was very apprehensive about going away with him for a night but it was an opportunity I could not miss regardless of what I felt for him.

We arrived in New York in plenty of time to go and get checked into the hotel and go for some lunch before the gig. The hotel had to be one of the poshest places I had ever seen, it was gorgeous.

We went down to the hotel restaurant for some food and a couple of drinks before we headed out to the gig. Things so far between Sidney and I were going well, neither of us has mentioned what has been going on between us. I decided that this trip was not the time for me to talk to him. I was just going to enjoy myself.

We got a taxi out to the stadium where the gig is being held. We pushed our way to the front having to stop for Sidney to autograph a few things along the way. He is so good with his fans, it never troubles him to spend some time with them and sign his name over and over again. Once we reached our spaces at the front I could not believe how close we actually were.

“We are even closer here than we were at the Eagles” I say to Sidney. “This is going to be one hell of a gig.”

And right enough – that has to be the best gig I have ever been too.

We headed up to our room once we got back to the hotel. We decided to buy a bottle of wine and make the most of our time away from everything – I was not sure that it was going to be a good idea sharing a room with Sidney while I was drinking but I did not make my reservations known.

We ordered room service on our way past the reception and were only minutes in the room when the wine arrived.

I took my shoes off and curled myself up on the bottom of my bed. Sidney too took his shoes off but he sprawled out on the same bed making himself comfortable.

The room was large with 2 double beds and a bathroom that was completely closed off to the room.

He lay there on his side propping his head up with his hand. The first few buttons of his navy blue shirt were open and I could see his neck line in a way I never had, his shirt was lying just above his waist due to the way he was lying and it was showing off the lines around his hips… not a good thing to show a girl who is very much in love.

We stayed up and talked for several hours about the playoffs and Geno and Kirsty’s wedding and just life in general. Thankfully the topic of Sidney and I was never approached, I was not wanting to ruin a perfectly good day.

As Sidney lay lying on the bed I found it increasingly difficult to stop myself from thinking about how much I wanted to be with him, he looked gorgeous and I was having a great time being in his company, I find it so easy to talk to him. I reached out and moved that usual stray curl, he smiled sleepily at me and pulled me down so that I was lying beside him. I cuddled in to him not really sure what to do.
