The first stop once we got to Scotland was a hotel just outside Glasgow so that we could sleep for the day to get rid of the jet lag. The next day we are off to Perth to see some friends and family.

We visited my Aunt Margaret and her husband Ian. All the cousins were there too. Although I did not really keep in touch with any of them it was still good to see them.

Next we visited Paul’s parents and sister. They were delighted to see us and meet Sidney. We stayed with them for the best part of a day and they agreed to come over and visit us next summer. It was so good to see them and knowing that they were happy for me despite the fact that Paul was no longer with us made what we were doing feel even more right. They treated me like I was still part of their family, it was a nice feeling.

The next day we met one of my best friends that I still keep in touch with regularly. It was so good to see Janice and Bob, their kids are so grown up now. I didn’t realise how much I missed them all until I seen them now. We spent a lot of time with them and gave them tickets to come over and visit in September before the next season started, they were delighted.

Sidney and I decided that night to go out for a meal and to some of the pubs in town so we headed back to the hotel to get ready.

As I undressed ready to shower I felt Sidney put his arms around my waist. I turned to face him and I smiled as I looked into his eyes. His eyes still mesmerise me every time I look into them as they had done the first time I met him. I never get fed up of looking at him.

“I never knew I could be this happy.” Sidney says still holding me. “Thank you Gill, I know I have said that a million times but I will say it a million more. You are my world.”
