Chapter 22

I was more than happy to sit back and let the boys enjoy receiving the cup and hear the crowds shout on their team, however, they were not having any of me hiding in the background, Sidney took me onto the ice and gave me the cup. I was also asked to join the lads for the team pictures and collect a medal with them, I was so proud and very happy.

When Sidney gave me the cup he leaned over and gave me such an amazing kiss right in front of the whole crowd but I was not embarrassed. I could not have been more proud at that moment to call Sidney Crosby my boyfriend. I will not be surprised if the picture of Sidney and I kissing is in most of the newspapers tomorrow.

The biggest surprise of the night was when we went to the function room for a de-briefing and I found Mum, Dad and Andy sitting waiting on me.

What a day – I was so happy, the only thing that was missing was Paul but I knew in my heart that he was proud of me and what I had achieved.
