Chapter 20

I met Kirsty after training for the final dress fittings. She looks amazing in her dress, Geno is going to be blown away.

My bridesmaids dress is a shiny silver with little diamantes scattered all over it, full length corset style, it fits nicely in all the right places and makes my figure look amazing which is not something I would normally admit. I feel like a princess while wearing it. Hopefully Sidney will be very impressed. He will look stunning when fully suited up.

I am really looking forward to the wedding now that Sidney and I are together.

As we finally sit down with our coffees after the dress fittings I tell Kirsty about last night.

“… to cut a long story short Sidney and I agreed last night be start a relationship, he apologised for all the hurt he has caused me and promised me that he is ready for this. I truly believe him Kirsty, if you had seen the look in his eyes.”

“Gill, I am so happy for you, it is about time he got his act together and realised what he was messing with and what he was missing out on.

“Why don’t the 2 of you come round for tea tonight to celebrate, Evgeni will love to have you both in his company for a while he was just saying the other night that we have not seen either of you for ages.”

I phoned Sidney and asked if he wanted to go round to Kirsty and Geno’s for tea, he was delighted at the prospect of spending some time with one of his some of his best pals out with working hours.

I went home before meeting up with Sidney who had been at a promotional charity event since training, to phone Mum, Dad and Andy. I wanted to tell them about Sidney and I before the press got a hold of the information, I knew before long it would be in the papers or on the internet.

Although they were a bit apprehensive as I had been, they understood how happy I was. They were looking forward to meeting him and everyone else when they arrived in a couple of month’s time. I really can’t wait for them to arrive.

That night as agreed we went to Kirsty and Geno’s house for tea, we had such a good night laughing and joking and talking about the wedding. They also announced that Kirsty is 2 months pregnant. I am over the moon for them both they are going to be brilliant parents.

We left relatively early as we have a full day of training again tomorrow before the second game of the playoffs.

Again the training went well. The boys are on such a high at the moment. Tonight’s game went even better than the first one, 6-0 Pittsburgh Penguins. Another shut out for Marc-Andre, he has to be a contender for the MVP.
