Chapter 39

“Gill, you have no idea how happy I am tonight, it has been such a good day. You agreed to be my wife, the East won the All Stars game and I got MVP, what more could I ask for?!”

We cuddled up and chatted for a while before we both fell asleep after our long day. I felt as if I had only been asleep for 5 minutes when the alarm went off. We headed down for a team breakfast after having a soothing shower and got ready for another busy day.

Soon it was time for me to meet Stuart Smith. Sidney came with me as he was eager to meet people from my past.

“Wow Gill, look at you, you look amazing. I am so proud of you and how well you have done”. Stuart said to me as soon as he seen me and gave me a big hug.

His wife Marion also looking pleased gave me a big hug and whispered to me, “Is that Sidney Crosby with you?”

I pulled away smiling, Marion has always been a closet hockey fan and is a big follower of the Calgary Flames. Without answering her question I put my arm around Sidney’s waist. “Marion, Stuart, Kristján, this is my fiancé Sidney Crosby.”

All Marion could say was “WOW!”

Kristján is Stuart and Marion’s son who also worked for the company.

We all chatted for a couple of hours before it was time for Sidney and I to head back to work.
