Chapter 35

So far the season was going brilliantly again for the Pittsburgh Penguins, we were once again top of the league with a good gap before the Ottawa Senators who were in second and the Toronto Maple Leafs in third.

It was just under a month until the All Stars Game and I have been asked to train them again. It is such an amazing feeling being asked to train the best of the best.

This year the events will be held in Vancouver so I am very excited about getting a weekend away, I have never been there before as we did not play Vancouver away from home last season and I have heard it is a beautiful city. Sidney has been chosen for the team again this year so all is good.

The few weeks leading up to the All Star Game have past like a whirlwind.

As I pass reception in the hotel on day one of the All Star weekend to go for a shower and relax before some more All Star events when the young blonde woman working on the desk announces that she has 2 messages for me. Who is leaving me messages I wonder.

She hands me a couple of pieces of paper and I read them as I walk away.

Stuart Smith from Perth Scotland is over on holiday and will be in Vancouver tomorrow. He would like to know if you will be free to meet for a coffee, please call back on 07745 784957.

Wow, Stuart is my old boss from back in Perth, it will be good to catch up. Stuart and I did not always see eye to eye but he was very good to me and looked after me when I needed it.

The second message was hand written and it was from Sidney, I don’t know why he has left me a message instead of just phoning me. It read:

Hello gorgeous, I have a surprise for you. Meet me at the hotel reception at 1500 hours sharp. I promise I will have you back at the General Motors Place in plenty of time for work.
